THE cause of a fish and chip shop fire in Deganwy was 'accidental', North Wales Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed.
Three fire crews were called to attend the incident at the Harbour View on Glan-Y-Mor Road on at 10.24am on Wednesday morning and were there for three hours.
A spokesperson for the fire service said the cause of the fire was accidental and had 'affected the frying range'.
She added: "Once the fire was out we carried out venting of the property which was heavily smoke logged.
"The fish and chip shop area was badly damaged and there was smoke damage to the ground floor restaurant area and to the upstairs residential flat which was empty at the time. Two fish and chip shop staff members were evacuated safely.
"Firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets and three thermal imaging cameras to attend to the incident".
