ONE of the organisers of the Gwledd Conwy Feast says they are looking forward to 'a fresh start' after this year's event was postponed until 2021.

The popular weekend of art, music and food attracts thousands to the Conwy quayside each year and is normally held in October.

However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 event has been moved to May 22 and 23 2021 - a week before Bank Holiday weekend.

But despite this, the event's organisers say they are remaining 'positive'.

Speaking to the North Wales Pioneer, Annette Evans, who normally works with the Glwedd Conwy Feast's many exhibitors said: "We're hoping that, by moving the event to May, we can have a fresh start following the coronavirus pandemic and we're remaining positive.

"By re-introducing the event in Spring, we hope we can draw more visitors into the event and have nicer weather too. It could be a whole new beginning for us".

It was feared that last year's Glwedd Conwy Feast would be the last, due to a reduction in public funding. But a rise in ticket sales was enough to see it survive through to this year and ensure that the postponed event can now take place in 2021 instead.

Annette Evans added: "We had a few people signed up for October already, who have all said they are keen to come back in May 2021.

"We're obviously still going to err on the side of caution in terms of following Government guidelines and keeping an eye out for any changes.

"But, we're very much looking forward to our event in May and, as we believe it's the first event of its kind scheduled in North Wales for 2021, it will be great to kickstart the season".
