A PRIZE-WINNING children’s author is set to launch online classes for budding creative writers.
Philip Caveney, from Prestatyn, will hold interactive Zoom workshops with creative writing teacher Susan Singfield in which children aged nine to 12 will be guided as they learn various skills and techniques.
Mr Caveney, who now lives in the 12th century city of Edinburgh, studied art at Kelsterton College and retains close ties to the area, visiting his family in Rhuddlan regularly.
Each course comprises a block of four one-hour Zoom workshops and will be structured around one of Caveney’s novels, starting with Watchers.
Each student who signs up for the course will receive a signed copy of the book in advance of the start date and will also have the opportunity to receive constructive criticism from Mr Caveney on an extended piece of their own writing.
The total cost is £80 with the first course starting on Monday, September 14 from 4.30pm-5.30pm.
Numbers are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment. Parents who wish to know more about the course should email Mr Caveney directly at philipcaveney@gmail.com for more details or go to The Writers’ Den’s Facebook page.
