A CHILD was struck by a car in Conwy County this morning.
The A547 Abergele Road, between Colwyn Bay and Llanddulas, had to be blocked off following the incident at around 8.15am.
The Welsh Ambulance Service and North Wales Police were in attendance, with the latter confirming that a car had collided with a child.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 8.21am to a report that a car had collided with a child on the A547 Abergele Road in Old Colwyn."
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called this morning at approximately 8:15 to reports of an incident involving a vehicle and pedestrian on Abergele Road, Colwyn Bay.
"We responded with two emergency ambulances and were supported by colleagues from the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service. One patient was transported to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.”
