A BIKE said to be worth around £400 was stolen from Conwy whilst the person who owned it had popped into the shop.

North Wales Police's Community Safety Central team have been to Conwy on Tuesday to put up a bike theft alert sign following the incident.

They say a young man's Carrera push bike was stolen from outside the Spar shop on the High Street while he had been inside the shop.

A spokesperson for the Community Safety Central team said: "The young man only went in to the shopfor five minutes and came out to find that his bike had gone.

"He had locks that were cut through. If you are getting a bike lock make sure it is Sold Secure standard."
