Couple move shop from pier to Llandudno High Street

Happily Ever After, run by Amy and Jake Bailey, will open on October, Friday 16 on Mostyn Street; the couple have taken over an empty shop, previously used by Yankee Candle.

Amy and Jake have given up their shop on the pier - which they have had since February - to move onto the high street.

They will be selling Disney, Paddington and Marvel products as well as Peter Rabbit and Guess How Much I Love You.

Amy, 32, said: "We have outgrown the shop on the pier. The shop on the high street became available so we decided to take a look. We instantly knew it was just what we needed.

"The pandemic has been very tough as sadly we didn’t qualify from any support from the government.

"Luckily we have survived the lockdowns using our online base and once lockdown was lifted, we were very busy on the pier.

"It’s been a rough start to a new business with the storms we had to battle in February and then the four months lockdown, but we have survived.

"It’s a risk move opening the bigger shop whilst in a local lockdown and threats of a national lockdown but we are determined."

Amy and Jake are from Staffordshire and previously worked in adult social services for Staffordshire County Council.

They made their 'dream' move to Llandudno in December 2019.

"Myself and my husband have always wanted to live in Llandudno as we holidayed here for many years," Amy said.

"We wanted to move to Llandudno and work for ourselves and a kiosk came available on the pier and we spent months thinking what we could sell.

"We then came up with the idea of a mini Disney shop as we both live Disney.

"We started our Facebook page and built it up before we decided to go ahead.

"We gave up our jobs to make the move to live our dream in Llandudno in December 2019 and we opened the shop on the pier in February 2020.

"The name happily ever after came from our dream we are living - our happily ever after."
