RESIDENTS in Conwy can take advantage of half price entry to a zoo during Autumn half term.

The Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay said it is keeping its gates firmly open, despite local lockdown measures.

The offer will run from October 17 and November 1.

Anyone looking to visit, needs to pre-book their visit online and the discount will be automatically applied.

Jen Jesse, director of operations and administration at the Welsh Mountain Zoo, said: “As with everyone, we await changing directive from Welsh Government and respond and react accordingly.

"Local lockdown undoubtedly will affect us as it limits visitors to those within the county of Conwy only, however, it is the support from, and visits by, many local residents that continues to help see us through."

Jen added: “As required by current restrictions, a visit to the zoo may feel a little different. However, we’re sure that all of our visitors will pull together and practise social distancing, as well as other measures introduced, to ensure we all benefit from a safe and enjoyable experience.

“The half price offer is also a way of saying a massive thank you to Conwy residents who continue to help us through theses incredibly difficult times.”

To entertain little ones during half term, Shriek Week will run.

There will be a Halloween trail which will take young visitors across the four corners of the zoo.
