ORGANISATIONS across Conwy are working to raise the profile of National Safeguarding Week.

This week, Monday November 16 until Friday 20, Conwy County Borough Council is supporting the national event and is spreading the word amongst staff and councillors across all services to make sure everyone is aware of the signs of a safeguarding issue, their duty to report concerns, and how to report a concern.

Cllr Cheryl Carlisle, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Safeguarding said: “The key message for this year is “Together we can keep people safe’ and National Safeguarding Week helps us to focus on making sure we all play our part. Safeguarding is central and pivotal to everyone’s work here in Conwy all through the year and we work closely with partner agencies every day. We all have a duty to listen to the the vulnerable, and act on what we hear. It’s especially important during the pandemic we are all committed to keeping children, young people and vulnerable adults safe.”
