A PROGRAMME that highlights the I'm A Celebrity castle and documents its history is now available to view.
This was to film for the programme on History Hit, entitled Gwrych Castle: Catastrophe to Celebrity.
A description of the programme states: "Over November and December 2020, Gwrych Castle in North Wales is to become the most famous castle in the UK. It is in this castle that I'm a Celebrity is being filmed. But there is so much more to Gwrych than simply hosting the 20th series of I'm a Celebrity.
You might recognise Gwrych Castle from elsewhere on TV this week: earlier this year, I visited @markebaker to learn more about the Castle's history. Watch our documentary over on @HistoryHit now. "The castle's history is fascinating, with activity on the site stretching as far back as the Iron Age."
During his visit to Gwrych Castle, Snow - who is the great-great grandson of David Lloyd George - the British prime minister at the end of the First World War - was shown the Countess’ Writing Room in the castle gardens and Ty Crwn, the estate’s former sea bathing house which was last used by the countess of Dundonald for sea bathing.
The castle was spectacular and was once suggested as a possible royal residence in Wales. But it fell into disrepair and was stripped for fittings, copper and lead. By the 90s it was derelict. pic.twitter.com/7zM3uUJ4Zc

Talking about the filming in September, Dr Baker, who took Snow around the 200-year-old castle site and its gardens, said: “We spoke quite a bit about the history of the castle and went into an area that ITV are not using for I’m a Celeb, the Countess’ Writing Room.
“It opens the castle up to another audience.
“He spent half a day here and had a lot of time for the volunteers. He is really down to earth, relaxed and has a genuine interest.
“He has got that very personal connection as well.
“He has got that Welsh link. He has got his Nain He grew up in North West Wales and that is where he spent many of his holidays," Dr Baker added.
Posting on Twitter with a video following the release of the show on History Hit, Snow said: "You might recognise Gwrych Castle from elsewhere on TV this week: earlier this year, I visited @markebaker to learn more about the castle's history. Gwrych Castle is currently being used for the 20th series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! Which is hosted by Ant and Dec.
The show, which ends on December 4, launched with a peak of 12million viewers.
