PRESTATYN's virtual light switch-on has racked up more than 9,000 views.
The switch-on, which took place on Thursday, November 26, was published on Facebook.
The video features pre-recorded performances by school children, including: Ysgol Clawdd Offa, Ysgol Melyd, Ysgol y Llys, Ysgol Bodnant and Ysgol Penmorfa
Father Christmas, who was joined by mayor cllr Tony Flynn, commented that it was his first switch-on of the season.

Speaking to viewers, Father Christmas said: "This is my very first switch-on so you are very honoured but I would just like to say to the people of Prestatyn and the children of Prestatyn...we have had a very hard year but you have got to get those chins up, Christmas is coming. Think about the presents and have a beautiful time.
"You do have an absolutely wonderful town and I'm proud to come here today to put on these lights with our good mayor [cllr Tony Flynn, mayor or Prestatyn and Meliden]."
The event was organised by Prestatyn Town Council.
The video was put together by Declan West.

In his Christmas message to viewers, cllr Flynn said: "I am honoured to be serving at the town's mayor. I am so grateful to our residents who make up teachers, tradesman and women, care workers, NHS, drivers, those in retail and police.
"To the mums and dads who have suffered and our wonderful care homes.

Speaking to the Journal after the event, cllr Flynn added: "I was delighted how the town council is always so inavative especially in such restictive times.
"This video viewed so many has brought happiness and joy to our community. On a personal level I was so happy that Santa Claus was able to take a short break to visit Prestatyn to do us the honour of switching on our Christmas tree and town lights.
"I would especially like to thank our schools who took part and were simply amazing.
"I send my love and warmest wishes to all the residents of Prestatyn and Meliden and God bless you."
