THE I’M A CELEBRITY Castle will re-open to the public next spring.

Self-catering accommodation will be introduced at Gwrych Castle in Abergele and the I’m A Celeb set may remain in place.

During a Q&A session on their Instagram, the trust at Gwrych Castle answered burning questions from fans including if the castle is haunted, if the crew behind the ITV show had heard spooky noises and when the castle was last lived in.

Questions and answers included:

  • Is the castle haunted? Answer - Yes it is.
  • Will the castle be kept with the I’m A Celebrity set-up after filming? Answer - watch this space.
  • Is it true the crew have been hearing spooky noises? Answer - apparently so.
  • Are the sleeping and living areas in I’m A Celebrity actually part of the castle or a purpose built set? Answer: Yes they are in the castle.
  • Have any other countries been interested to move location to the castle from Australia? Answer: Yes there has been interest.
  • What are the name of the ghost there? Answer: Our most famous ghost - Winifred, Countess of Dundonald.
  • Are you turning the castle into a hotel? Answer: No but we are aiming to have self-catering accommodation at the castle.
  • How far away is the camp area from Ant and Dec's studio? Answer: A walk up Stable Hill to the camp is around 200 yards. It is all within the castle site.
  • When is it open to the public? Answer: Spring 2021.
  • Did a lot of work have to be done in order to get the castle ready for I'm A Celeb? Answer: Lots of emergency works to make the main building safe for access.
  • Will there be opportunity for tours in the New Year to show where the show took place? Answer: Yes! Watch this space
  • How were you approached by ITV? Answer: They dropped us an email which ended in the spam folder.
  • Is there a wall that goes all around the castle and what is the tower on the hill? Answer: Several miles of park wall. Lady Emily's Tower is a banqueting house in the park.
  • Does the castle have Hive installed? Answer: Only bees
  • Is I'm A Celeb under some sort of castle cover? Answer: There is only temporary roofs.
  • Can you visit Emily's tower? Any work needing done to it? Answer: Not at the moment as it is in a very poor state of disrepair.
  • When was the castle last lived in? Answer: 1994 when the caretaker left
  • Who owns the castle? Answer: Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust
  • Is the live studio part of the original castle or just a purpose built set? Answer: The live studio is on the main terrace. It is purpose built but include parts of the ruins.

The final of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! will take place on Friday, December 4.
