BIKE owners are being warned to take precautions following an increase in town centre thefts.
North Wales Police has confirmed the recent increase in Wrexham, stating the incidents had been a combination of targeted offences and opportunism.
Inspector Victor Powell said: "We have had a lift in the theft of bikes around the town centre - please lock your bike and come to see us if you'd like to find out about betting it security marked.
"If anyone has information or sees anything out of place, please call us."
A North Wales Police spokesman added: "The vast majority of bicycle thefts are opportunistic.
"It only takes a few seconds for a thief to take a bike which is not secured.
"Follow our simple crime prevention tips to help keep your bicycle safe from thieves."
