LLANDUDNO Rotary Club has made the first round of awards to local organisations from its community chest.
The community chest was established this year as a way of getting funds to small local Groups for whom a few hundred pounds might make a huge difference.
A spokesperson for the club said: “In September we invited local groups to bid by November 30 and received eight applications, all from worthy local enterprises trying to make life a little better in Llandudno, Deganwy and Llandudno Junction.
"We’re pleased to announce the following awards:- TV Conwy £200, Penrhyn Bay FC £200, Llandudno FC £200, Llandudno Junction Jnr FC £200, Ormeside Scout Group £100, Llandudno Cricket Club £100."
Llandudno Rotary Club president, Rosalind Hopewell added: "In a year that has so often thwarted by Covid, the most recent instance being having to abandon our Snowman Appeal after just one of the four days planned, it's great to end the year on a positive note.
"In a first for Llandudno Rotary, we invited small local community groups to bid for grants of £100 to £500 and have been delighted to help no less than six really worthy causes. We hope to repeat the exercise in 2021."
