A COUNCIL will hold an information session for parents and carers of young people with additional needs.

Conwy Social Care and Education Service will run the online session in line with the Additional Learning Needs Transformation Programme, introduced by the Welsh Government in September to create a unified system for supporting learners aged up to 25.

The session will provide information and advice to help parents and carers to contribute at person centred review meetings and discussions.

Cllr Julie Fallon, Conwy Conwy Borough Council's cabinet member for education, said: “This session will be invaluable if you’re likely to be attending review meetings with, or on behalf of, a child or young person. Review meetings offer an important opportunity to talk about your child’s needs, and also their strengths, ambitions and how best to support them.

“This will help you know what to expect from a review meeting and how to get the best out of it.”

All parents and carers are welcome.

This session takes place on Thursday, February 4 from 1pm to 2pm.

Send your name and email address to aln@conwy.gov.uk by January 21 to receive you a link to the online session.
