THIEVES who were pretending to view a bike for sale in Colwyn Bay instead rode off without buying it.

North Wales Police's Community Central Page tweeted that two men with Liverpool accents were involved in the incident on Whitehall Road.

While the men were looking at the "expensive" bike, the seller asked to have it back just before it was stolen.

"A resident of Whitehall Road in Colwyn Bay was selling an expensive bike on Facebook," police tweeted.

"Two males with Liverpool accents have turned up to look at the bike. The person selling the bike has asked for it back as he became suspicious and the male on the bike has then ridden off."

Anyone with information related to the incident should call police on 101.
