ABOUT 20 jobs will be created when Johnny Dough's Pizza opens two new sites.

Johnny Dough's Pizza is opening two new restaurants in Colwyn Bay and Penmaenmawr.

Recruitment for staff is currently underway.

Founder Morgan Austin said: "They will be a hybrid, sort of between a restaurant and a takeaway.

"We’ve never really explored delivery and it’s very much the area of expansion in catering, even prior to Covid.

"The reason for Colwyn bay and Penmaenmawr is they are in different catchment areas to the existing restaurants and there are lots of homes near by.

"Colwyn bay is ever developing and there’s always great new eateries and shops opening."

The new premise in Colwyn Bay will be located on Conwy Road, opposite Blooming Fabulous.

The new site in Penmaenmawr is next door to Spar.

Morgan added: "Oddly both are former butcher shops.

"I made a conscious decision to move forward from July.

"The pandemic has been a struggle but I wasn’t prepared to accept defeat so opening more was always going to happen.

"A total of 20 jobs will be created between them, at least."

Morgan also revealed he has another venture up his sleeve.

The concept is a burger restaurant complemented by street food style dishes.

Morgan said: "The new restaurant has a working title of Johnny Whoppers. There is not much else to say until planning comes through.

"I’m always looking for new sites.

"It was a shame Rhyl never came to fruition but... never say never."

Johnny Dough's has restaurants in Llandudno and Conwy. Pizzas are baked in wood-fired ovens.
