A FAMILY-RUN Wrexham town centre chip shop has confirmed that no one was hurt following yesterday's fire and has vowed to reopen "as soon as we can".

Firefighters were called to the blaze at Everland Fish Bar on Market Street shortly before 10.15am.

The road had to be taped off as smoke billowed out of the building.

The fire was put out by 12.10pm with two teams from Wrexham remaining at the scene afterwards for safety checks.

Everland Fish Bar posted on Facebook: "As I’m sure many are aware unfortunately the shop had a fire this morning. The priority is thankfully no one has been hurt.

"We are very grateful to our fantastic emergency services for their prompt response in helping us and we cannot thank Wrexham fire and police services more for their hard work.

"We hope it has not caused too much disruption to our neighbours and the community.

"The shop will remain closed until we can further assess the damage and rectify any issues to enable us to reopen again.

"We hope to be back up and running as soon as we can.

"Until then take care and we look forward to your continued custom in the future."
