LLANDUDNO Coastguard were tasked to the Great Orme to assist the RSPCA with a kid goat stuck on a cliff.

A rescue plan was carefully drawn up and a technician was lowered down the cliff face towards the goat, which at this point had been stuck for over 24 hours.

It was a sad outcome however, as when the cliff technician approached the goat, it attempted to run away causing it to fall for its ledge where it suffered fatal injuries.

A spokesperson from Llandudno Coastguard said on Wednesday, February 17: "Normally we wouldn't rescue wild animals, however, it was feared that the public may place themselves in danger to attempt a rescue so it was decided a rescue would be initiated."

Llandudno Coastguard were also recently tasked to investigate objects in the water off Rhos on Sea. There were described as large orange panels.

Two construction barriers on the beach were recovered and placed in a position of safety.
