A MAN has been arrested in relation to two offences of robbery.

The incidents occurred in Llandudno on February 17. North Wales Police believed the incidents were linked.

Chief Inspector Owain Llewellyn said “Shortly after 1am on February 18, a 25 year old male was arrested in the Bangor area on suspicion of having committed two robberies which occurred in Llandudno town centre on Wednesday afternoon. He will remain in custody whilst officers continue to investigate the crimes.

"I am extremely grateful to the members of the public who responded to the witness appeal and also to the officers and staff who contributed to the arrest.

"We remain keen to hear from anyone who feels that they may have information which will support the ongoing investigation”

Eye-witnesses spoke a 'very heavy police presence' in Llandudno the day of the incidents.

The first robbery happened at a premises on Augusta Street. A second incident followed shortly on Mostyn Street.

Crime scene investigators worked at the targeted premises into the evening and police patrols were increased.

The neighbourhood policing team also visited local newsagents and off-licences to provide security advice and reassurance.
