A FIVE-year-old has completed his challenge to walk 30 miles in 30 days to raise money for St Kentigern Hospice.

Joseph Crowe raised an incredible £3,000 and walked 75 miles.

Wendy Clark, hospice fundraiser, said: “Joseph has been incredible. We are so grateful and we can’t wait to meet him to hand over his hospice champion medal and certificate.

"Hospice champions like Joseph keep our doors open to serve the local community free of charge.

"Thank you Joseph. You are a star.”

Joseph's mum and dad, Laura and Aaron, and five-month-old sister Sophia braved all weathers to walk with Joseph.

The little boy did admit, prior to the challenge, that he wasn't a fan of walking or the rain.

Laura said: "When I suggested this challenge to Joseph a month ago he asked to sleep on it as he thought it was too big a challenge for him.

"We always knew he could do it but we never thought he would exceed his target by so much.

"Joseph has walked 75 miles in 30 days. He's done this whilst also giving his all to his home schooling.

"We could not be more proud of him.

"It has given him a great sense of pride in himself. He even says he likes walking now.

"He loves his food so he likes to equate his fundraising total to how many days it would feed a patient for. This currently stands at 437 days."
