PLANS to create a permanent public and display car park and contract parking area for residents will be discussed next Wednesday (March 10).

Conwy County Borough Council's planning committee will discuss the application that concerns an area of land on Station Road, next to Deganwy Railway Station, that has been used as a temporary public pay and display car park and contract parking area for residents until August 2016.

The request is for a permanent use of land rather than temporary. The applicant is Laura Hibbert and the agent is Owen Davenport Ltd.

A planning supporting statement says: "The site is currently unused.

"The site is defined on its frontage / Northern edge by diagonal picket fencing forming a boundary from the adjacent A546 road. The site is a long narrow site with access through onto an existing Conwy County Borough Council carpark on its North Western boundary."

The car park will have 30 spaces including three disabled spaces; two motorcycle spaces; 11 residents' spaces; barrier gates for both proposed public and residential car parks and signage and pay points.

The document added: "The application serves to provide much needed public and residential car parking in a highly accessible location."

The meeting is at 2pm.
