A FUNDRAISER has been launched for an "inspirational" nurse from Bangor who has died aged 26.

NHS keyworker Trisha Roberts had been dealing with combined mental health issues and the pressure of the covid pandemic.

The former Ysbyty Gwynedd staff member, who worked for New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton as a trauma and orthopeadic ward sister, was planning her wedding to her partner Paul in New York.

"She was only 26, she was inspirational to all who met her," said sister Tammy Lou, who has started a GoFundMe appeal to assist with funeral costs and charitable donations, in the name of Trisha, following her death on February 24.

"It has come as a great shock to the family as well as her friends and colleagues, regardless of how many times you met her, she left a lasting impression.

"She was a bubbly, energetic, enthusiastic and loving personality. She was loved very much by all and was a very determined and hard worker, she would always be there to help in any way she could.

"Trisha would go above and beyond to help and be there in your hour of need.

"Trisha was an amazing daughter and sister to my mother, brother and myself.

"She was an amazing auntie to her nephews and niece she was loved very much by her partner Paul and planned on getting married in New York."

Tammy Lou described how in recent months her heroic sister would provide comfort to those who contracted Covid-19.

"She often told us, with tear filled eyes that she held the hands of these who unfortunately succumbed to the covid virus and was often the last person they saw," added Tammy Lou.

"A hero not only to her family but to the NHS the gaping hole she has left in our hearts, mind and in life will never be filled."

You can donate to the GoFundMe appeal, which has so far raised £1,935 towards its £6k target, which will provide funding towards funeral costs and charities to be nominated by the family at https://uk.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-of-trisha-roberts-thank-you-nhs.
