A CALL for a volunteer to mind Conwy’s public defibrillator has been launched follwing its theft from the town’s Quay.

The defibrillator was installed by the Community Heartbeat Trust in a classic red telephone kiosk on the Quay.

Martin Fagan, National Secretary of the Trust said: “Regrettably, only a matter of days after the installation, someone stole the defibrillator, and the site has remained empty since.

“We have been unable to find anyone who can regularly check the site, and report back to us via the WebNos governance system, so until we do, we are unable to replace the defibrillator.

“If anyone would like to volunteer to help us manage this site, and also if anyone wishes to make a donation towards the replacement defibrillator (we need to raise £1000), please do contact us at www/communityheartbeat.org.uk.”

The Community Heartbeat Trust is a national charity, working throughout the UK countries. Its aim is to support communities in providing defibrillator projects.
