TRAINS are scheduled to run again from Caernarfon and Porthmadog on the Welsh Highland and Festiniog heritage railways.

Services will start on Saturday May 1. The Welsh Highland Railway will run its Gelert Explorer specials between Caernarfon and Bedgellert and the Festiniog Railway will run its Mountain Prince specials from Porthmadog to Tan-y-Bwlch and beyond to Dduallt.

The Gelert Explorer with its hamper service allows time in Bedgellert to explore the village and makes a complete family day out. It will run up to four days per week.

Mountain Prince travels from Porthmadog through Tan-y-Bwlch to Dduallt and on its return stops at Tan-y-Bwlch to give time for refreshments. We can offer up to five services per day.

Carriages on both trains have been fitted to be Covid compliant. It is hoped that services will be expanded later in the year. All tickets must be pre-booked online at https://www.festrail.co.uk/trains/
