A RHYL party shop is giving away party at total of 15 crates full of Easter goodies to youngsters who have had a tough time during the lockdown.

Ashley Jones, who runs Personalize a Memory with mother Lindsay, said: “This past year hasn't been the greatest, in fact it's really taken a lot out of everybody, businesses are suffering, families haven’t been able to see each other, shops have closed, the world has crumbled around us. Me and my mum wanted to bring some joy around and give something back to the community and hopefully bring a smile to somebody's face!

“We originally wanted to give five crates away filled with Easter goodies to children who have had it tough, who were ill, or who needed a pick me up. The response we had was incredible.

“While sorting this out I had a message from a lovely lady called Gail Rickett who runs the Fuller Monty cafe in Rhyl, who donated £50 to our campaign. This allowed us to choose 10 winners. But having had the response we had we wished we could pick everybody, it was very hard and decided go for 13 winners all in the local area who had a story that deserved to be recognised.

“We’ve had some messages back from the parents to say how thankful they were, it made us feel really warm, and to see the joy in the children's faces when received a goodie crate was a reward in itself. Families have said, thank you for noticing the struggles my child has faced and recognising the strength they had shown."

Ashley added: “Rhyl High School also got In touch about year 11 pupils who were sitting exams but also were facing difficulties, and we gave them two crates to give them a pick me up so in total we gave away 15 crates filled with Easter goodies.”
