An appeal for donations of preloved items has been launched as The British Heart Foundation BHF Cymru shop in Llandudno reopened this week.

The Mostyn Street shop sadly had to close close its doors for several months throughout 2020 and into this year, due to the pandemic but is thrilled to be back up and running.

Donations and sales help fund the BHF’s life saving research into heart and circulatory diseases which cause around 25 deaths each day in Wales.

The shop welcomes items such as clothing, handbags, shoes, books and toys. Every item sold will be turned into funds for research that could help transform the lives of those in the local area living with heart and circulatory diseases.

Area Manager Jacqui Webb said: “We’re so pleased to welcome everyone back to our Llandudno shop this week. There are measures in place to keep staff, volunteers and customers safe in the shop.

"This includes social distancing on the shop floor, protective equipment for staff and volunteers and screens at till points. Customers can donate items at Covid-secure donation points set up at BHF shop entrances.

“Please consider donating your preloved items to BHF Cymru if you’re having a spring clear out.”

For larger donations to BHF home stores, donors can book a free collection service online or by calling their local shop. All pick-ups are Covid-secure in line with Government social distancing guidelines.

For those not ready to hit the high-street, the charity’s postal donation service is also available for smaller, quality items – simply print off a label and take your items to your local drop off point. Alternatively, shop a wide range of items via the BHF eBay shop.
