We’re going back to 1986 this week to look at productions done by Thursby Players and their junior section.

The Junior Thursby Players presented two plays in the Parish Hall entitled Jenny and the Lucy Bags and The Stolen Prince. They were directed by Margaret Wills.

Anna Sherrard played Miss Jenny McCandy with Shonagh Musgrave as her niece Maggie. Jamie Sadler was Jockma-Cuddy and David Simpson played Peter Pontefract. Young Mark Warren took the part of the policeman.

Meanwhile the main group put on Johnny Belinda by Elmer Harris about a deaf and dumb girl living in Northern Canada at the beginning of the 20th century.

The play was put on in the Parish Hall over four nights with David Bowcock, Chris Fenwick, Martin Brodrick, Bega Hall, David Silver and Rita Yeowart taking the main parts.
