TALKS about where the 21st series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! Should be held are continuing.
In 2020, due to the pandemic, the 20th series was filmed in the UK at Gwrych Castle near Abergele
Dame Carolyn McCall, ITV chief executive, said the programme will return to Australia this year if travel is possible but said the castle format, won by podcast host Giovanna Fletcher, had been a “tremendous success”.
Speaking as ITV published its group annual results, she added: “We have a very good plan if not, as we have already done it once (in the castle).”
Ant McPartlin recently said he would be “very happy” for I’m A Celebrity to return to Wales.
Gwrych Castle, a 200-year-old folly, is aiming to open the castle interiors to the public on May 17, depending on government guidance.
On Monday night, the site was featured on ITV's Coast and Country.
Lynne Nicholson, who volunteers at the castle, called Gwrych Castle a 'magical place'.
"It is just absolutely stunning," she added.
"Even though parts of it are missing, and the fact they are going to put it back together again, I'm just hoping they do it in my lifetime because I want to see it."
