TO MARK Mental Health Awareness Week, Conwy Cabinet Member cllr Cheryl Carlisle is raising awareness of a text based service for those needing support.
Conwy residents, of any age, feeling overwhelmed or struggling to cope can get around the clock free mental health help from a text messaging support service by the charity Mental Health Innovations.
Those that text the word CONWY to 85258 will be connected to a trained volunteer.
The volunteer will then text the resident back and forth, and work with them to take their next steps towards feeling better.
They can help with a range of issues from stress, anxiety and depression, to relationship problems and bullying.
Cllr Carlisle, who has responsibility for community mental health, said: “The past year has been difficult for so many people.
"I hope that any Conwy residents experiencing issues relating to their mental wellbeing will reach out and text 85258; there is support available please get in touch.”
The service is a free, anonymous, confidential and available any time of day or night, seven days a week.
