Ty Mawr Holiday Park welcomes local MP to see results of £6.5m investment

As Parkdean Resorts reopened holiday parks over the Spring, its team at Ty Mawr Holiday Park, near Abergele, have welcomed their local MP onto the park to see how the local area is benefitting from a an investment of more than £6.5m over the last three years, including major facility upgrades, a range of new activities and new accommodation.

Rt Hon David Jones, MP, visited the park and was given a guided tour by park General Manager, Marcin Kucharski and Regional Operations Director, Toby Durston.

More than £1.8m was invested in Ty Mawr ahead of the 2021 season, to install new accommodation and carry out major resurfacing works on park, taking the total amount invested in the park over the last three years to £6.5m.

This year, plots have been improved on park, with new tarmacked driveways, pathways, and the creation of extra green spaces. The park has also received one new extra-wide caravan with a veranda, a refurbished bar, a new food court, and a new outdoor seating area, as well as thirteen replacement caravans to upgrade existing accommodation.

Over the last three years, Ty Mawr has been given a major makeover as one of Parkdean’s seven ‘Parks of the Future’. The investment is part of an overall spend of £70 million across Parkdean’s business nationwide, and the award-winning company is now hiring for seasonal and full-time roles in Wales.

The park now features a range of new exciting activities for the whole family, including a Sports Dome, a high ropes course, an outdoor climbing wall, and a virtual reality gaming area. The park also boasts a new Arts & Crafts Den, running creative activities throughout the day, while the Next Level Gaming Arena features family favourite consoles like PS4 and Xbox, plus gaming PCs.

Ty Mawr is also home to the Bear Grylls Survival Academy, as well as Outdoor 'n' Explore – hosted at the new base camp – plus new activities including hover boards, Laser Quest and bungee trampolines. Guests can also enjoy al fresco dining from new pop-up food stands, under a new covered canopy area – the perfect place to unwind in the evening.

The park employs more than 150 staff in season, and the team welcomed more than 28,000 holidaymakers in 2020.
