THE search is underway for the next Miss Alice.

On Saturday, June 19, Llandudno Town Council will be hold its annual Miss Alice competition.

All girls aged between eight and 10 years old and living in the five wards of Llandudno - Craig Y Don; Gogarth; Mostyn; Tudno; and Penrhyn - are eligible to enter.

Entrants will be judged on their appearance, communication skills and personality and their knowledge of the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ book.

A spokesperson for Llandudno Town Council said: "Miss Alice's duties include attendance at Town Council Civic and other events such as Civic Sunday, Fireworks, and Christmas Parade. She is also invited to make guest appearances at other public events within the town, such as the Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza, and accompany the Mayor to Civic Engagements, where appropriate.

"On occasion Miss Alice undertakes visits out of the area, which helps to promote both Llandudno and the Miss Alice connection. A parent or guardian must be available to escort Alice to all her engagements."

The winner of the competition will be presented with a sash showing her title and a 'Miss Alice' outfit. All successful entrants will receive an Alice in Wonderland 'goody bag' after the competition.

Anyone interested in entering and having a chance to represent Llandudno as Miss Alice can pick up a form from the town clerk at Llandudno Town Hall in Lloyd Street.

The spokesperson added: "Forms must be completed in your own handwriting."

Entries must be returned to the town hall by Friday, May 28.

The current Miss Alice is Milly Woodyatt from Ysgol Craig-Y-Don. Mille was chosen in 2019 following the contest.

Prior to Millie was Carys Lambe.
