CHRISTMAS is set to be a cracker with the arrival of a new festive extravaganza.

The Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza are behind the Christmas Extravaganza which is planned for November 18, 19, 20 and 21 2021.

Chris Williams, chairman of the extravaganza, said: " We decided it was a shame for the town to lose out on the popular Christmas Fair and using our resources for the Victorian Extravaganza, we would be able to create a fantastic event.

"The new event will feature a mixture of quality market and craft stalls as the previous Christmas Fair but we will also have a number of vintage fairground rides, exhibitions and entertainment.

"The event is aimed at all ages and we hope visitors will enjoy what we have on offer and spend time enjoying Llandudno. People will also be able to enter the event free of charge and come and go as they please.

"We aim to use the same footprint as the Christmas fair so it won’t be as big as the extravaganza but, we promise it will be an event the town will be proud of and we’ll worth a visit for holiday tourists.

"We are planning for a positive future."

This event is subject to Covid regulations.

In January 2020, the Pioneer revealed that after more than 15 years of operation, organisers had pulled the plug on the Llandudno Christmas Fayre.

Directors of the community interest company said at the time that due to "circumstances outside their control", the Christmas Fayre had incurred a loss after the 2019 event.

The fayre in recent years had come under fire for its entry fee charge.

Due to the pandemic, Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza, which usually takes place on the first May bank holiday weekend, was cancelled for a second time in a row this year.
