ARMED police closed off a residential street in Old Colwyn on Friday night as part of an emergency services response.
Residents were told to 'stay indoors' as police officers and police dogs attended the scene.
A man was later arrested.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “Earlier this evening, Officers from North Wales Police were dealing with an incident in Old Colwyn and a man was arrested.
“Later, during part of the ongoing investigation, Police were supported by armed officers while an address was searched.
“A street in Old Colwyn was cordoned off for a short while as the operation was underway. “The street has since been re-opened.
“The aim of the Police Operation was to minimise the risk to the public and we thank the local residents for their co-operation by staying indoors at that time.”
