LLANDUDNO’s paddling pool at Craig-y-Don may open to the public within the next six weeks.
Apprentice winner Alana Spencer, who opened a desserts shack overlooking the paddling pool on Saturday, May 22, posted on her Facebook stories that she had it ‘on good authority’ that the paddling pool may be re-filled in six weeks time.
A spokesperson from Conwy County Borough Council confirmed that preparation works were underway.
They added: “We don’t know yet when we’ll be allowed to open the paddling pools, but in the meantime we’re starting to get them ready and our teams will be out cleaning and repairing them in preparation.”
Craig-y-Don paddling pool is one of the largest outdoor paddling pools in Wales. It measures 116m – 21m with a maximum depth of 2ft.
The site is currently listed as 'temporarily closed' and stands empty.
Other paddling pools located in Conwy county include:
Llanfairfechan Paddling Pool, West Shore Road; Penmaenmawr Paddling Pool, Beach Road and Rhos on Sea Paddling Pool on Abbey Road.
