A NOT-for-profit social enterprise that offers the free loan of prom dresses and suits to young people experiencing financial hardship has teamed up with the Llandudno Ladies Cricket Team to sponsor their new kits.
Ally Elouise, who runs Prom Ally, said the opportunity came about after she was approached by their coach.
Ally said: "I think it’s important for Prom Ally to be involved because as an organisation we are mostly aimed at helping local ladies and teenage girls and one of our main goals is to empower women. I think it’s fantastic that there’s a woman’s league in addition to the men’s.
"We also think its important to be involved in a community group such as the cricket club to spread the word about the service we offer and to network with different organisations and people in the area.
"I’ve never been a big cricket fan myself," Ally added.
"Purely because I’m not very sporty but after watching the ladies at their training session last week, it looked a lot of fun. Maybe I’ll have a go one day soon."
