THERE have been 704 new cases of coronavirus recorded in Wales.
The latest Public Health Wales figures published on Tuesday, July 27, reported that there have now been 238,707 cases of the virus recorded in the nation since the start of the pandemic.
There has been no additional covid-related deaths reported, with the total remaining at 5,597.
North Wales cases
Of the 704 new cases, 217 were here in North Wales.
Again, the Betsi Cadwalader Health Board area recorded the highest number of new cases in Wales.
The latest figures can be broken down to:
• Denbighshire – 58 (60.6 per 100,000 population)
• Flintshire – 58 (37.2 per 100,000 population)
• Conwy – 44 (37.5 per 100,000 population)
• Wrexham – 31 (22.8 per 100,000 population)
• Gwynedd – 15 (12 per 100,000 population)
• Anglesey – 11 (15.7 per 100,000 population)
The seven-day rolling rate of infection in Wales as a whole is now 164.4 cases per 100,000 people.
In North Wales, the rate is higher that the national average in all but two local authority areas (Gwynedd and Anglesey).
Denbighshire has the highest rate of infection in Wales at 455.6 per 100,000.
