CONWY Town Council has a new clerk.

Rachel Lees has been appointed as the new town clerk for the Conwy, Llandudno Junction and Deganwy communities.

Ms Lees has worked for Conwy Town Council for seven years as deputy town clerk and over that time, she has built up a thorough understanding of how the council operates.

Rachel, who lives in Abergele, said: “I am thrilled to have been chosen as the new town clerk. The three communities are wonderful places to live and work and I will be working hard to make sure that community services are delivered to all of them.”

Cllr Collette Ryan, mayor of Conwy and constable of the Castle, said: "Rachel has done a wonderfully effective job as acting town clerk following the departure of the previous town clerk, and her experience and ability made her the ideal person for the role.

"After an unsettled period for the council we now have a town clerk, who will restore stability and take us forward."

Previous clerk Natasha Flint resigned in March. Ms Flint is legally qualified and joined the town council in 2018.
