THE gates to a garden were opened to the public to raise funds for the RNLI in Llandudno.

Llandudno RNLI lifeboat operations manager, Marcus Elliott, hosted this year’s open garden event at his home on the Great Orme.

Visitors and supporters dropped in to take in the impressive view. The site included a large, terraced garden with ponds and productive greenhouse with lower lawns and flower garden.

More than £400 was raised for the RNLI.

Sue Perkins, chairperson of the group, said: "'This is such a lovely event, and it is very kind of Marcus to share his garden with us all. It is also lovely to have the support of lots of local people as well as our visitors."

The Llandudno supporters’ group, who helped organise the event, were on hand to provide coffee and tea and a range of cakes.

Sue added: "The cakes which were kindly donated by the Loaf Café were delicious and in great demand."

Sue added that she is delighted that face to face fundraising can now start again.

Alongside her team, she has started preparations for a Llandudno Dog Walk event on September 12.
