A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a crash near Betws-y-Coed.
The incident happened on Tuesday, September 7.
Shortly after 1.30pm, North Wales Police were informed of an accident involving two motorcycles on the A5 near to Rhydlanfair, Conwy.
North Wales Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Wales Air Ambulance attended the scene, which despite all efforts, tragically resulted in a 52-year-old man from the Derbyshire being pronounced dead at the scene.
Temporary Sergeant Liam Morris of the Roads Policing Unit said "Our sincere sympathies go out to his family, friends and loved ones at this very difficult time. Specially trained officers are currently supporting his family.”
"The investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this collision and we are appealing to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.”
Another motorcyclist, a 61-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains in a stable condition.
The road re-opened shortly before 9pm.
