THERE have been more than 2,600 new cases of coronavirus recorded in Wales.

In the latest figures released by Public Health Wales on September 8, there were 2,667 new positive tests for the virus.

Sadly, 10 people have died after testing positive for Covid-19.

5,712 people have now died after a positive test in Wales since the start of the pandemic.

Of the new cases in Wales as a whole, 457 were here in North Wales.

These can be broken down to:

  • Conwy 104
  • Flintshire 96
  • Denbighshire 95
  • Wrexham 63
  • Gwynedd 61
  • Anglesey 38

The seven-day rolling rate of infection in Wales is now 481.2 positive cases per 100,000 people in Wales.

In North Wales, the highest rates of infection are in Conwy and Denbighshire.

The lowest in Wrexham at 314.8/100k.
