SCORES of dog-walkers turned out to support the Llandudno RNLI on Sunday.
About 70 people with their dogs took part in the fundraising event at Llandudno Lifeboat Station, where charity donations and refreshments helped to raise £300.
Llandudno crew trainer John Roberts gave a short talk on safety, while other crew members spoke about their volunteering duties.
“It was great to see so many people at the boathouse joining in the dog walk and we are delighted that over £300 was raised this morning,” said Sue Perkins, lead fundraiser for Llandudno RNLI.
“We are very grateful to them for their kind support.”
Mr Roberts also gave advice to dog walkers, after one pet was rescued from the foot of cliffs in Angel Bay two weeks ago.
“Our advice is always to keep your dog on a lead when walking close to cliff edges,” he said.
“If your dog gets into trouble, or you see someone in trouble in the water, call 999 and ask for the coastguard straight away. Never attempt to rescue them yourself.”
