TWO pedestrians were seriously injured following a 'fail to stop' incident in Gwynedd.

This happened in Morfa Nefyn on Saturday night (September 18) shortly before 9.20pm.

Officers received a report of a one-vehicle collision on the B4412 which collided with two pedestrians before leaving the scene.

Officers attended and the man and woman were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by ambulance, where they remain with serious injuries.

NWP Gwynedd South posted on Facebook: "The following day officers located the vehicle and arrested the male driver on suspicion of several driving offences including causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving whilst unfit through drugs.

"The 25-year-old local man has since been released under investigation pending further inquiries."

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes, of the Roads Policing Unit, is appealing for witnesses.

He said: “We are asking anybody who may have been travelling along the B4412 just prior to the collision, and who may have dash cam, to contact us.”

Anybody with information is asked to contact officers by calling 101. Quote reference number: 21000651614.
