FOR this week’s nostalgia feature, we go back in time to Llandudno Pier, in the decade of Pac-Man and Donkey Kong.

The Victorian history of the landmark was perhaps less clear in the 1980s than it is today, due to the popularity of bright lights and arcades.

Adam Williams, owner of Llandudno Pier, said: “A lot has changed at the pier since the 1980s because leisure is like a fast-changing industry, like the fashion industry.

“Art that time, there was a huge buzz around arcades and less interest in heritage.

“The pier needs to change to survive, and it is about adapting to what people want to do for pleasure.
