MORE than 3,000 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Wales, according to the latest figures published today.
Of the 3,009 new cases, 508 were in the North Wales region covered by the Betsi Cadwalader University Health Board.
Sadly, there were five further covid-related deaths in Wales.
In North Wales, 100 new cases or more were recorded in Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham.
The cases for North Wales can be broken down to:
- Flintshire 128
- Denbighshire 113
- Wrexham 100
- Gwynedd 96
- Conwy 83
- Anglesey 60
The seven-day rolling rate of infection in Wales is now 638.4 cases per 100,000 population.
The rate in all North Wales counties is below the national average, although it is highest in Denbighshire with a rate of 637.4/100k.
The lowest rate is in Wrexham.
The infection rate in North Wales can be broken down to:

- Conwy 573.4
- Gwynedd 564.4
- Anglesey 516.8
- Flintshire 513.1
- Wrexham 424.4
In Wales, around one in 55 people is estimated to have had Covid-19 in the week to September 25, up from one in 60 the previous week and the highest since the week to December 23 2020.
