SANTA and his sleigh will be making a return to Conwy this year.

Routes and timings will be published soon. Once released, up to date information on the route and timings can be found at www.conwytowncouncil.gov.uk/en/events/christmas

A spokesperson from Conwy Town Council said: "Last year you may have only heard the sound of distant sleigh bells as Santa made a few surprise appearances in Conwy, Deganwy and Llandudno Junction. As you know this was to make sure that all the children and their families were safe to enjoy a quiet Christmas.

"This year Santa is back, and Conwy Town Council are very happy to announce that the Grinch won’t be stealing Christmas again this year.

"Santa will be back to visit on his sleigh, available to everyone so you can plan ahead to come and see him, wave and cheer.

"As we all know, it is more important than ever to support our local businesses, so again this year Christmas music will be played in the town centres on selected dates during December to accompany your Christmas shopping and make your experience more festive."

On Christmas Eve there will be music from 5.30pm and carols in the square from 6pm.

"Santa and his elf will be popping in to wave to us from the castle walls at 6.45pm," the spokesperson added.

There will also be a firework display from the castle at 7pm.

Visitors and residents and advised not to bring dogs to the event.

A Boxing Day dip is planned for Deganwy promenade [and attended by the RNLI], starting at 10.30am.

The spokesperson said: "Come along to the prom, just turn up on the day to register or cheer on those brave enough to take a dip. We have prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in three fancy dress categories, which are; Best Adult, Child and Group.

"Prizes for adult and group winners will be awarded to the winners chosen charities.

"Children's prizes are to keep for their own use."

All above activities and events are dependant on weather conditions and Covid restrictions in place at the current time.
