THE Great Orme Tramway was delighted to welcome 152 residents of Conwy County (and five dogs) for their second Community Weekend event last weekend.

Conwy County residents enjoyed half-price tickets as well as the spectacular views of The Great Orme and Llandudno Promenade.

The tramway opened three months later the usual in 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions, but still transported more than 106,000 passengers this year.

Now closed for the winter, while engineers do maintenance work and safety checks, it is expected to reopen in March 2022.

First opened in 1902, it is Britain's only cable-hauled tramway which travels on public roads, transporting passengers 207 metres up the Great Orme, and even remained operational during the Second World War.
