ST DAVID'S Hospice is to soon hold its Christmas 2021 raffle, with the winners of first, second and third prizes receiving £2,000, £500 and £100 respectively.

With 2021 drawing to a close, it has been another year of challenges to raise funds for the hospice, which offers free palliative care to adult patients across North West Wales.

But the charity has ensured that those needing their help have been able to receive it at the right time for them, as well as support for their families and friends.

This is thanks to the many regular lottery raffle supporters and draw players, which means there is a regular income that the hospice can rely on.

For the hospice lottery team, it is always a pleasure letting players know that they have won one of their top prizes, especially when they have a particularly personal reason for supporting the hospice.

Erica Lloyd Jones entered the St David’s Hospice Summer Draw this year and won first prize of £2,000.

She was truly overwhelmed when given the news, saying: “The hospice is close to our heart. We play the hospice lottery draws due to the wonderful help and support our 43-year-old son received from St David’s Hospice in his final days.

“The work undertaken by all involved in the hospice often goes unnoticed until, of course, bad luck intercedes, leading families to come forward for assistance at the last moment.

“That assistance is then given with such good grace and care without asking for anything in return; truly inspiring.

“Winning the draw came totally unexpected. I would urge everyone to take part, as it could well be you next on the winning podium; plus it is a small way of supporting a very worthwhile cause.”

Erica kindly made a donation back to the hospice from the winning raffle and is enjoying putting the rest towards a home conversion.

If you buy your tickets and return the stubs for the Christmas lottery to the hospice before Friday, November 26, you will also have a chance to win a £100 Marks & Spencer gift card in the Early Bird Response Draw.

Tickets are £1 each and the main draw will take place on Monday, December 20.

Each entry to the draw will make a difference to those that turn to St David’s Hospice for care and support in their time of need.
