A COURT was shown 4am footage of young men fighting in Colwyn Bay’s main street – and continuing with the brawl even when police arrived.

Lying on the floor was a 28-year-old man with two open fractures of his left leg which required operations.

It happened in August 2020 after men emerged from flats in Abergele Road, said Elen Owen, prosecuting.

Two attackers admitted causing grievous bodily harm and all four pleaded guilty to violent disorder.

Judge Nicola Saffman said at Caernarfon crown court it was remarkable the brawl continued even after police arrived.

Jacob Hannon, aged 30, of Parciau Close, Old Colwyn, who had previous convictions including for violence, was jailed for two years for causing GBH and violent disorder.

On the same charges Joshua Roberts, aged 23, of Greenfield Road, Colwyn Bay, was given an 18-month suspended term with 250 hours of unpaid work and alcohol abstinence monitoring.

His brother Kai Roberts, aged 22, of Pentraeth, Old Colwyn, was given a 12-month suspended sentence with alcohol monitoring, rehabilitation courses and 150 hours of unpaid work.

For violent disorder Caleb Greer-Broad, aged 20, of Victoria Road, Old Colwyn, received a 12-month suspended term with 150 hours of unpaid work with rehabilitation and alcohol monitoring. Each defendant must pay £200 costs.

The victim Adam Clarke, aged 28, of Llangoed Anglesey, shirtless on the video, had been acquitted of violent disorder.

Judge Saffman remarked : “I accept there’s still no love lost between any of you and Mr Clarke.”
