THERE are no plans at present to change end of term plans at Conwy schools.

Despite Denbighshire County Council saying all their schools will switch to online learning next week, Conwy County Borough Council is standing firm and remains determined that the term will finish with face-to-face learning.

A spokesperson for the council said: "There are no plans at present to change the end of term date (December 22) for Conwy schools.

"We’ll continue to monitor the situation closely."

On Anglesey, school pupils are set to end the term through blended learning.

Over the past seven days, Anglesey’s incidence rate had risen to 840.9 per 100,000 people. During the same period, the Welsh average stood at 504.6 per 100,000.

First Minister Mark Drakeford set out Wales’ aim on December 13 to offer all eligible adults an appointment for a booster vaccine by the end of December.

Mr Drakeford said: "Please make getting a booster a priority, as it is the single of the most important things you can do to protect yourself against coronavirus and this new variant.

"We can once again pull together to look out for each other – for friends, family and neighbours – to protect each other and keep ourselves safe and well.

"We have already taken some steps to increase protections in Wales and we may need to take some further steps to keep Wales safe."
