A widow forced to repay her late partner’s large drug debts had become a cannabis dealer, a court heard when she received an eight months suspended jail term.

Amanda Gardner, aged 34, a mum of Ffordd yr Orsedd, Llandudno, must also undergo rehabilitation and do 200 hours unpaid work.

Judge Nicola Saffman told her at Mold crown court: "Your husband died from cocaine toxicity. You know the misery drugs wreak in the community.”

Gardner admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply and being involved in supply.

"Police searched her home last January and allegedly found cannabis worth up to £700, cash and a “dealer’s list.”

Elen Owen, defending, said immediate custody would have a “devastating” effect. Gardner had mostly turned around her life.
